Stephen Bottomley

Stephen is a partner at rhw and leads our Dispute Resolution team where he is able to advise on a variety of matters covering civil, commercial and property disputes. Stephen’s clients include a broad range of SMEs and individuals.

Stephen attended the University of Sheffield and qualified as a solicitor in 2013, having trained with a mid-sized City firm focusing primarily on commercial disputes and corporate law. Stephen gained post-qualification experience with two Legal 500 regional firms in the South East of England where his caseload included banking disputes (Interest Rate Hedging Product mis-selling) and a mixture of civil and property disputes.

Stephen joined rhw from a firm in Woking in June 2019 and was made Partner in April 2022. Stephen is able to assist clients in the following areas:

• Commercial Property Disputes – most recently contested lease renewals and dilapidations claims
• Property Disputes – including rights of way, boundaries and party walls
• Defamation and Harassment
• Professional Negligence
• General Commercial Disputes
• Contentious Probate

Outside of work Stephen enjoys cooking, playing squash, walking in the Surrey Hills, watching rugby (his playing days are something of a distant memory) and spending time with his family.
