rhw have become the first law firm in Guildford to be awarded the WIQS accreditation and be listed as such on the Law Society website. Edward Pennington, Solicitor within the Private Client department at rhw said:
“we are delighted to be an accredited member of the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS). This shows that we follow best practice procedures to meet the highest standards of technical expertise and client service in providing wills and probate advice to clients”
To clarify further:
- WIQS is only open to law firms or other organisations that are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
- The Senior Responsible Officer or Head of Department must have at least three years’ experience of will drafting and estate administration. rhw’s private client team have a combined experience of approximately 80 years in dealing with Wills and Inheritance.
- Accredited solicitors and other staff complete mandatory training on the WIQS standard and show compliance through annual re-accreditation and ongoing enforcement checks by the Law Society.
Edward Pennington is a member of rhw’s private client team. Before joining rhw he was head of the wills, trusts, tax and probate department at Bells Solicitors
Edward has lived in the Guildford area since 1980. He trained in the town and having qualified as a Solicitor in January 2004 has practised locally every since. Edward specialises in Wills, Probate, Deed of Variation, Trusts, Inheritance Tax advice, Powers of Attorney/Court of Protection work and advising older clients. He is a full member of both STEP and Solicitors for the Elderly as well as the Law Society’s Private Client section.
