Guildford solicitors get their hands dirty in heart of the Surrey Hills
Written by Jordanne on December 12, 2011
Guildford based law firm, rhw Solicitors LLP got their hands dirty recently during a volunteering day with local charity, the Surrey Hills Society. A team from rhw offered a day of their time to help clear lands and build a shelter for the Society at Norbury Park near Dorking in Surrey.
The shelter was needed for the charity’s promotional trailer, located in the walled gardens of Norbury Park. A total of nine volunteers from rhw solicitors, gave up their time for a day and helped clear the ground ready for the shelter. They then dug six post holes for large posts, bigger than telegraph poles and set the poles in place. Beams and a roof were then put up with a slight drop on a gradient for drainage purposes..
The project took the team a day and they managed to finish just as it started to get too dark to work. All nine volunteers were all actively engaged for almost all of the time, and really enjoyed the day.
The rhw team are keen to take part in other events to further their support of this important local charity. They will be planning a sponsored walk in the spring as well as organising a pub quiz.
