rhw solicitors LLP raise £273 in Sponsored Walk
On 17 May 2010 rhw Solicitors LLP took part in a sponsored walk to help raise funds for legal advice charities in Surrey. The team comprised of lawyers Clive Barnard, Richard Brown, John Britten and Samantha Jago; trainee lawyer Jennifer Juleff and personal assistant Wendy Bicknell.
The walk brought together teams from a number of local law firms and covered over 10km of beautiful countryside around Guildford, from Guildford Combined Court along the River Wey to Loseley Park and Mount Browne, and back to the town. Leading the walk were Lord Justice Toulson and Lady Toulson, District Judge Raeside and Sue Seakens, Chief Executive for Surrey Law Society.
Richard Brown, Partner with rhw and Head of the Employment department said:
“It is wonderful to take part in an event which supports charities providing free legal advice to the most vulnerable in society who might otherwise not have access to such advice. We at rhw dedicate our own personal time to pro bono work, advising regularly at Surrey Law Centre on a Tuesday evening.
This walk is an additional way of lending support by raising money for those charities so that they are able to carry on their vital work for the community. It is also good for the firm to participate in such events, bringing colleagues together and meeting with other professionals.”
rhw would like to thank all those who sponsored the team to raise the sum of £273 from the walk, which will be donated to the charity Surrey Law Centre.
